Laser Tattoo Removal
Why choose laser tattoo removal?
Recent advances in laser tattoo removal technology have made it a safe, effective and efficient method of removing unwanted tattoos, both amateur and professional.
How does it work?
Fast pulses of light are directed onto the tattoo breaking up the pigment molecules into smaller particles. Normal surrounding tissue is not damaged in the process and these smaller particles are then removed by the body’s own natural filtering system.
How long will it take?
The number of treatments needed depends on the size of the tattoo as well as its location, depth and colour. Amateur tattoos are the easiest to remove whereas professional ones may require more treatment sessions. The tattoo will fade slowly between treatments as the body removes the remainder of the tattoo pigment.
Why is wavelength important?
Different colours of tattoo pigment absorb different wavelengths of laser light. The 1064nm and 532nm wavelengths are commonly used to effectively treat black, red and orange inks.
What is tattoo fading and editing?
Tattoo Fading – cover-up work on tattoos that have been lightened up with laser treatment gives you much more choice and flexibility in design and allows for much brighter colours for the new tattoo without the need for heavy black.
Tattoo Editing – particularly useful with cover-ups where full removal is not needed and only part of the old tattoo needs to be treated to achieve a desired result.
