Every day we are inundated with popular facial treatments on the market which ‘clog’ our newsfeeds. Mind the pun. We are left wondering, how to peels differ from one another and which is the most suitable treatment for me?

The beauty is that all skin peels have one thing in common. Their primary aim is to remove the skin’s outer layer, the stratum corneum which is composed primarily of dead cells. The removal of this layer enhances the creation of the healthy new layer below the surface. This procedure can effectively diminish the appearance of wrinkles, age spots and blemishes with little or no trauma to the healthy cells which really is the icing on the cake.

So without further ado, we will explore four different facial peels available at Gold Coast Skin Boutique that has us all raising our hands for a glow up.

THE JESSNER JOYRIDE

Buckle up ladies. The Jessner peel is one-hell -of -a -ride. Based upon salicylic acid, lactic acid and resorcinol, our Jessner peels are used primarily as a preparation peel for medium to deep peeling but can be used effectively to treat areas of hyperpigmentation, (melasma’s in particular) and to minimise outbreak.

The Jessner peel is super helpful with eradicating age spots smoothing fine lines, reducing the appearance of scars and evening out your skin tone.

THE LACTIC LIFESAVER

With a Lactic Peel you can sure say ‘laters’ to those old skin layers. Lactic peels, sometimes referred to as AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) peels target the epidermis (the uppermost layer of the skin), breaking down the glue that holds the skin cells and they also penetrate the skins surface enabling the removal of dull, dry skin layer as well as a reduction of fine lines. This results in a faster cell turn over and a rejuvenated & refreshed appearance.

SALICYLIC ACID PEEL

Salicylic Acid peel is another gentle yet effective treatment for the management of acne and congested skin, dull skin in need of exfoliation or sun damaged skin.

Cients are recommended to use the Synergie Skin A-Zinc Essentials Kit two weeks prior to treatment. To pre-condition the skin and begin the exfoliation and renewal process, it is
recommended to add Reveal and Blem-X to the skin care regime.

One treatment every 2 to 4 weeks is recommended with a total or 4 to 6 treatments.

THE TACTICAL TCA

If you’re envisioning Samantha from Sex and the City, fear not. Our TCA peels are available in two different strengths depending on what your comfort level is.

Our 25% TCA Peel provides a medium-depth remodelling, and olur 40% TCA peel offers the deepest (and most efficient) skin remodelling results.

The bottom line is that TCA peels are awesome and have been highly popular in our Kirra clinics for years. They work to improve colour, freshness, texture, skin tone, and fine wrinkles.
