Lumecca treats an array of skin conditions

Introducing Lumecca by InMode. Pigmentation and skin discolouration is one of the most common skin concerns with our clients at GC Skin Boutique. Living in Australia and spending too much time in the sun without using a proper physical sunscreen (link to Cosmology’s UV Defence Moisturiser) will inevitably cause sun damaged skin. Sun spots and uneven skin tone can make our skin look more aged and overall dull. We’ve introduced Lumecca by InMode to rewind the clock and reset your skin.

Lumecca by InMode results after just one sessionWhen the discolouration is clustered in certain areas it can look more prominent. Pigment that sits directly above the lip can give women the appearance of a moustache, if you know, you know! This can effect our self esteem, Lumecca will rewind the clock and give your skin a fresh start.

Another concern for our clients is the appearance of vascular lesions such as spider veins. Spider veins and other lesions are can be caused by sitting or standing for too long, pregnancy, hormonal changes, ageing, injury and even sunlight. Spider veins are damaged, visible blood vessels that sit just below the skin and look raised in appearance. They are often red, blue or purple in colour and develop in clumps.

Lumecca can also treat Rosacea. Rosacea can be caused by a bacteria reaction, an overactive immune system and even genetics. It can also be triggered by sunlight and hairspray (random we know). It is an inflammatory skin condition that makes areas of the face appear red and angry, sometimes causing pimples and swelling. There are four main types of Rosacea – Erythematotelangiectatic, Papulopustular, Phymatous and Ocular.

Let’s look into Lumecca as a treatment.

Lumecca is an energy based IPL treatment that is ideal for targeting red and brown pigment, it is a complete photo rejuvenation. It operates using photothermolysis and the intense pulsed light improves the complexion and clarity of the skin. It is not a painful procedure but you will feel a mild tingling, and a bright flash of light that feels like a tiny electric shock. Some clients compare it to a warm sensation and as though a rubber band is snapping gently on the face.

There is no downtime from Lumecca, you will only have a small amount of redness and slight warming of the skin, similar to post sunburn. To get the best results we recommend doing 3-5 sessions. Within the first 24-28 hours post treatment, you may see a darkening of the pigmented spots, this is completely normal. The pigmented lesions may then start to flake off, and your body will begin to dissolve the pigment internally. Within one to two weeks your skin will be healed and you will notice a significant difference in the tone and texture.

Lumecca by InMode will transform your skin for just $299 for a full face treatment.

What skin type is suitable for Lumecca?

This treatment is great for those with fair to light olive skin. If you have very olive skin, IPL may not be the right treatment for you as IPL relies on the melanin within targeted areas being higher than melanin in the surrounding skin.

If you suffer from Melasma, unfortunately Lumecca is not the right treatment for you. Melasma is an unpredictable condition as it is hormonal and is prone to reoccurrence. We do have other options for this type of pigment. Speak to one of our experienced skin therapists to discuss what options exist for you!
