LET’S TALK GC SKIN BOUTIQUE, HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN WITH THE TEAM IN KIRRA?
I have been a registered nurse working within the hospital system for the past 2 years and am lucky enough to have been with my GC skin family since June.
YOU’RE THE SECOND COSMETIC INJECTOR IN THE CLINIC, HAVE YOU ALWAYS WANTED TO WORK IN INJECTABLES?
I knew I eventually wanted to get into cosmetics but definitely didn’t think I would be lucky enough to land a position so early on in my career. My biggest thanks goes to our beautiful boss for that.
WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE NEEDED TO BE A COSMETIC INJECTOR?
To be a cosmetic injector you have to do your 3 full time years at university to achieve a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and then branch off to either complete courses in cosmetic injector or be trained within the clinic you work in.
WE’RE IN THE GAME OF BOOSTING THE CONFIDENCE OF WOMEN AND BUILDING EACH OTHER UP, WHAT POWER DO INJECTABLES HAVE IN GIVING CONFIDENCE TO THE WOMEN YOU TREAT?
The reason I love my job and the work we get to create is primarily because of this exact reason, boosting the confidence of the women were surrounded by. We get to enhance the already amazing features of our beautiful clients and seeing the instant confidence boost is so rewarding.
DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE INJECTABLE TREATMENT IN CLINIC AND WHY THAT ONE?
Lips or Cog threads would Definitely have to be my favourites, I love seeing instant results and these treatments give me the chance to use my creative side too.
WHAT’S A FEW MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT COSMETIC INJECTABLES? WE’RE THINKING ALONG THE LINES OF LIP FILLER GETTING THE REPUTATION OF NOT LOOKING NATURAL?
I think the biggest misconception is that filler will be extremely noticeable or they’ll appear “ducky” or fake (thanks to the old Kirra for that, were about to change the game there). I pride myself on my ability to create natural looking lips that are subtle and enhance the shape my clients present with.
HOW DO YOU CREATE A SEAMLESSLY NATURAL LOOKING LIP? ANY SPECIAL TECHNIQUES YOU’VE LEARNT?
I have learnt a lot since working with GC skin and have also just completed a lip speciality lip course in Brisbane. However, I do tend to create and change my techniques for each client based on my eye for detail.
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE THING ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
My favourite thing besides working with my amazing team each day is the confidence and trust I can obtain from my clients. Hearing and seeing their feedback and comments always brightens my day.
A LITTLE BIRDY TOLD US THAT YOU’VE RECENTLY DONE SOME EXTRA TRAINING IN SPECIALITY AREAS?
I Have! I recently completed a 2 day advanced training course in Brisbane with Derma Medical where I have no learnt to inject hands, Hyperhidrosis (sweat glands), platysma bands, gummy smiles and masseters, cheeks and nasolabial folds.
WHAT DO THE NEXT FEW YEARS HOLD FOR YOU PROFESSIONALLY?
I love learning and being really good at what I do so my focus for the next few years is to just excel and grow within GC skin and be able to educate myself and clients on the range of different procedures that are available to us In the ever growing injectables world.
