Salicylic Acid Peel: “My top pick for tackling acne concerns is the Salicylic Acid Peel. It dives deep into pores, exfoliating and unclogging, helping to prevent future breakouts.”
Pro Power Peel (Pigment Peel): “When targeting hyperpigmentation I like to opt for a Glycolic Acid Peel. It sheds damaged skin cells, revealing a more even complexion by reducing dark spots. The Cosmelan Peel is also a powerful option for pigment.”
TCA Peel (Anti-Ageing Peel): “Embrace the power of a TCA (trichloroacetic acid) peel for anti-ageing. It stimulates collagen production, reducing fine lines and wrinkles for a rejuvenated appearance.”
Are there levels of intensity with peels?
“Yes, there are varying intensities of chemical peels. Superficial peels treat outer skin layers, medium peels penetrate deeper, and deep peels reach the dermis. The intensity depends on the skin concern and desired results.”
Who is suitable for a peel?
“Ideal candidates include those with sun-damaged skin, acne scars, fine lines, and pigmentation issues. However, individuals with sensitive skin, should avoid peels until the barrier is repaired. This can be done through LED light therapy.”
How often should I get a peel?
“The frequency varies. Superficial peels can be done fortnightly to monthly, while deeper peels may only be needed once or twice a year.”
What pre and post-peel skincare should I use?
“Before, prep with a gentle cleanser and avoid exfoliants for a few days. Post-peel, focus on hydration. Hyaluronic Acid or a Vitamin B! Use a light weight moisturiser, and sunscreen is a non-negotiable. LED and Express Microdermabrasion to clean and strengthen the skin before a peel are game changers.”
What results can I expect?
“Peels can lead to improved skin texture, reduced hyperpigmentation, and diminished fine lines. Results emerge gradually, so patience is key. I’d recommend 3-6 peels mild to moderate peels. Or one Cosmelan treatment for pigmentation.”
