PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) & PRF

If you’re looking for a natural alternative to rejuvenate your skin with a minimally invasive approach, then PRP and PRF could be the perfect treatment for you. If you are prone to reactions or adverse effects from external ingredients, this option is great as it’s all from your own body!

Known as the ‘natural filler’, PRP skin therapy reduces the risk of allergies and reactions as the therapy is derived from your own blood. The platelets extracted help our blood to clot and produce growth factor proteins which are essential for healing. This healing process generates more collagen, renews and rejuvenates our skin. The procedure involves a nurse drawing a vial of blood from the client, the blood is then spun to seperate the Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) from the white and red blood cells. The highly concentrated platelets are then used to treat the problem areas of the skin.

These innovative and highly effective skin treatments are the secret to a more youthful look and are a fave at GC Skin Boutique. You may have heard them also referred to as the ‘Vampire Facial’. The benefits are endless, each session is only 60 minutes and with a two week healing time. We recommend getting a minimum of three sessions for optimal results.

So what’s the different between PRP & PRF?

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) is a similar treatment that uses an increased number of white blood cells and fibrins to rejuvenate the skin. It is known as the evolution of PRP with more longevity and more desirable results. The procedure is the same, the formula is extracted from the client’s own blood, and then injected back into the patient’s skin at the treatment site.

Although PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) and PRF take the same approach with the procedure, the key difference is how the blood is processed once it is extracted. The PRF samples are spun at a lower speed to maintain the liquid form, this leads to a higher concentration of stem cells, white blood cells and fibrin. When choosing between PRP and PRF, our highly experienced and attentive nurses at GC Skin Boutique will take you through a comprehensive consultation to determine which option is best suited to you and your needs.

Minimal downtime and non-invasive

Celebrities love it, and for a few different reasons!

If you are a KUWK follower you would remember an episode where Kim tries the ‘Vampire Facial’ (PRP) in Kim and Kourtney take Miami. But this wasn’t just for show, Kim is a genuine fan, along with sister Kourtney.

“Kourtney is a huge fan and I know a lot of other people that love it, too,” – Kim Kardashian.

Kourtney has used PRP to treat a bald patch on her head, showing the versatility of the treatment.

“I’m getting PRP [platelet-rich plasma], which is where they take your blood and spin it and they use your plasma and they inject it in my head for my hair to grow back.” – Kourtney Kardashian.

It is also reported that Angelina Jolie enjoys the benefits of Platelet-Rich Plasma treatments, using it to boost collagen and maintain her glow.

Others have used it to treat injury and protect their sporting careers. Tiger Woods, Kobe Bryant and Alex Rodriguez have used PRP for their injuries and swear by it. The treatment has given athletes a new lease in their career and some have avoided retirement because of it!

How does it compliment Morpheus 8?

PRP and PRF also compliment the Morpheus 8 treatment. So if you’re wanting to really commit to rewinding the clock, combining these two treatments will restore your skin to a youthful state and give big results. Morpheus 8 is also a non-surgical procedure. It is referred to as the facelift that uses radiofrequency technology to tighten skin and also stimulate collagen production. The two treatments work together to produce more collagen, reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improve the skin’s elasticity.

Combining the two treatments will give you visible results within a few weeks. Morpheus 8 doesn’t have any downtime either, and is also a great alternative for those who aren’t quite ready to get anti-wrinkle injections but still want to experience more youthful skin.
