1. KELLE, IT IS SO NICE TO SIT DOWN WITH YOU AND GET TO KNOW THE BRAINS BEHIND OUR UPCOMING DREAM SPACE! HOW HAVE YOU BEEN?

Thank you for having me! I’m really well, working with GC Skin is so much fun and I can’t wait for us to share what we have been working on together!

2. YOU’RE AN INTERIOR DESIGNER AND SUPER MUM, HOW DO YOU DO IT ALL!?

I’m very fluid with my time – I know when my deadlines are and try to incorporate white space into my calendar so that I can stay focussed and not burn out! I’m very fortunate that I have a thriving career that allows me to be creative and collaborate with incredible businesses on various projects. This fuels my desire for variety and connection which keeps my energy high!

3. WE’RE CURIOUS TO KNOW HOW YOUR CAREER TOOK OFF? WAS INTERIOR DESIGN SOMETHING YOU’D ALWAYS WANTED TO DO OR SOMETHING YOU KIND OF FELL INTO?

I didn’t study interior design until my early 30’s and whilst it’s was always something I had been interested in, it wasn’t until after the birth of my first child that I considered following this career path. When I first started my career I worked on various projects and now I focus on a specific niche which works really well for me because I get to work on amazing projects with aligned clients and it really lights me up!

4. YOU WORK IN BOTH RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL SPACES, DO YOU HAVE A FAVOURITE ONE TO FIT OUT?

Can I say both? Haha. I love that with commercial projects I can often push the boundaries a little more. I love to work with commercial clients that already have a solid brand and then they come to me to inject that brand identity into a psychical space for their clients and customers. With residential clients I love to learn how they live and entertain and then create a space that is not only functional but one that inspires them to live their best life.

5. YOU WORKED CLOSELY WITH GC SKIN BOUTIQUE FOUNDER, GABRIELLE ADELE, TO BRING HER VISION TO LIFE FOR CLINIC 2.0. CAN YOU TELL US A BIT ABOUT THIS PROCESS?

Working with Gabrielle has been a dream. I love to work with clients that allow me the freedom to create a space that aligns with their business and their clientele and that trust me to bring it all to life. When we met for the first time we discussed the functionality of the spaces and how Gabrielle wanted to the overall aesthetic to feel. Then I source materials and work on the overall design of the space, bringing in textures, the colour palette, unique design elements and decor pieces to bring it all to life.

6. DESCRIBE THE INTERIOR DESIGN STYLE OF YOUR OWN HOME IN 3 WORDS?

Raw. Coastal. Luxe.

7. ANY BIG NO NO’S IN DESIGNING THE INTERIOR OF A HOME?

Following trends. Really think about how you want your space to feel, what emotions evoke when you wake up in your bedroom or cook in your kitchen. I much prefer to design spaces that are timeless rather than looking at what is trending at the moment.

8. WE’D LOVE TO KNOW ANY LIFE HACKS YOU HAVE WHEN IT COMES TO CREATING A BEAUTIFUL SPACE?

I love to layer textures and tones to create a warmth throughout the space. I lean towards a minimalist style and by bringing in tonal elements and tactile pieces it creates an inviting energy without needing to clutter the space with objects. With furniture I prefer to source larger pieces rather than lots of smaller pieces which actually creates more openness and a spacious feel within the space.

9. FINALLY, WHEN GC SKIN BOUTIQUE 2.0 OPENS – WHAT IS THE FIRST TREATMENT YOU’LL BE COMING IN FOR?

I’ve always wanted to try an Oxygen Facial so that would be the first on my list!!
